Diwali, the festival of lights. This is an ancient festival of Hinduism which falls between mid-october to mid-november on the night of new moon phase. People during the week of Diwali light diyas and candles and decorate their homes with colorful lights and other decorations. The streets at this time get lively which also signifies victory of light over darkness. Diwali is even celebrated by exchanging of gifts and sweets followed by fireworks. People on this occasion make their homes neat and clean and most of them even wear new clothes. On the day of Diwali people even participate in a prayer typically of a Hindu goddess of wealth. And some people even play cards or organize card parties just as a get-together where relatives and friends get to socialize with each other.
