The Lost Tree

You're surrounded by me still lack to see, Remained misused, I'm your lost tree. Unvalued by people, still providing air to breathe, Taken for granted, letting myself in sun to seethe. Don't cut me in sake of humanity before I start to despair, I promise you to give shadow when you sit below me here. I am the home of squirrels and to the bird's nests, Don't destroy their habitat just because they can't protest. Nothing I ask you all for but to preserve, Was I planted to die, is that all I deserve. In need to extract wood, you cut my branches down, You might wait for them to shed rather to give me a frown. Unlock my parameters from your key and please let me free, Wandering in my own enclosed nature, I am the lost tree.
